Mitigating Risk with Lean Business Transformation and RIE

Design & Deliver

When planning any big event or launching Lean, Business Transformation, RIE or a Service Design initiative, there are a huge number of things that can go wrong, or are major barriers to stop things working.   The savvy client, sponsor or change manager will mitigate against these risks.

In many sectors, including Oil and Gas, IT, Financial Services, Retail etc. sponsors in charge of key projects look for ‘turn key’ solutions (from birth to maturity) –a solution that commits to a specialist providing a solution that, when ignited, will deliver the results.

Potential ‘Turn Key’ - Birth to Maturity Projects

  • Major restructuring or organisational redesign
  • Cost Reduction
  • Customer Focus and Alignment
  • Introducing Lean Business Transformation
  • Service Design
  • Process & Continuous Improvement

Anticipating Resistance

Prior to implementation or commencement of project day zero + 1 all the organisational, team, structural and personal barriers have been circumvented, attitudes have been challenged and overcome, the playing field has been leveled, and agreements have been forged which precipitate the important launch event or process beyond day zero +1.

Business Transformation Headaches

We know and have witnessed many organisations keen to implement change, but who failed in the process, because they  were blind to see that what was in plain view or believed their worst fears would not materialize.

They had not been able to see the barriers to initializing the change, the roadblocks to progress, the history and politics and the old ‘turf wars’ and personal agendas which create unnecessary resistance and block any meaningful progress.

Our advice is don;'t become one of them.  To avoid catastrophic failure you may want to asses the relative maturity of your change process and the degree of success you have achieved in recent times.
